Automobiles crowd the avenue below; pedestrians are visible on the neighboring sidewalk. Garland is affixed and draped on the façade of the building, and large affixed signage reads, "For 'neath the roofs of the homeland far, We still keep faith with the Christmas Star - Frank Walcott Hutt; The Christmas bells from hill to hill, Answer each other in the mist -Alfred Lord Tennyson." Bedell's is visible in the right foreground. The name of the photography studio and the geographic location are embossed on the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit." Also, the photographic sequence number is printed on the bottom of the recto, "95444."
