On the opposite side of Gratiot are William Broad's 5¢ and 10¢ Variety Store, the Cadillac Furniture Company, United Shirts, and Crowley-Milner's. Kern's stands in the distance where Gratiot bends at Farmer Street. Pedestrians and cars are in the streets. "840 - 3/19/45" is printed near the bottom of the photo.
