Black and white photo captioned in handwriting on verso as "Clyde E. Darr, one of Detroit's leading amateurs and his home transmitter station at 137 Hull Avenue." Darr sits on the left holding a cigar and listening through headphones, while another man seated at a table covered with radio equipment, including a transmitter bearing a plaque which reads, "The Darr Radiophone and Telegraph Transmitter," sits with his back to the camera holding a slip of paper and also listening through headphones. A map, a framed print of men in a canoe with a sign baring Darr's call sign, "8ZZ," several certificates, and a photo of a little girl are hung on the wall. "Photograph by The Detroit News," is stamped on the verso.
