Photograph. Black and white aerial photo showing the Detroit Edison Conners Creek electric power plant. The view shows the Detroit River in the foreground. Coal piles in long rows can be seen near the center of the photo as well as the power plant building with its seven exhaust smokestacks. The smokestacks were highly visible landmarks for boaters on nearby Lake St. Clair and were known locally as the "Seven Sisters." Also visible near the center of the photo are the Edison Boat Club buildings and docks which are located adjacent to the coal piles near the riverfront. A seaplane is visible near the upper left corner of the photo. Various industrial buildings can be seen in the background including the Chrysler Jefferson Avenue plant near the right side of the photo.
