Photograph. Black and white photo showing a speaker and attendees at the "Partners in Progress" dedication ceremony for the two recently completed power interconnections between the Detroit Edison Company and Ontario Hydro. One interconnection was made across the Detroit River between the Detroit Edison Delray electric power plant and the Ontario Hydro J. C. Keith Generating Station in Windsor, Ontario. The other interconnection was made across the St. Clair River between the Detroit Edison Marysville electric power plant and Ontario Hydro transmission lines located just south of Sarnia, Ontario. The ceremony was held on December 18, 1953, at the Marysville power plant. The man who is standing at the lectern is Prentiss M. Brown, Chairman of Detroit Edison. The man at the left side of the photo is Walker L. Cisler, President of Detroit Edison Company. Two sailors in uniform (possibly U. S. Coast Guard), other attendees, and an American flag can be seen in the background.
