Photograph. Black and white photo showing a group of five men who are attending the "Partners in Progress" dedication ceremony for the two recently completed power interconnections between the Detroit Edison Company and Ontario Hydro. One interconnection was made across the Detroit River between the Detroit Edison Delray electric power plant and the Ontario Hydro J. C. Keith Generating Station in Windsor, Ontario. The other interconnection was made across the St. Clair River between the Detroit Edison Marysville electric power plant and Ontario Hydro transmission lines located just south of Sarnia, Ontario. The ceremony was held on December 18, 1953, at the Marysville power plant. The man on the far left side of the photo is G. Mennen Williams, Governor of Michigan. Walker L. Cisler, President of the Detroit Edison company is at the far right side in the foreground. The other men are not identified. The Royal Union Flag (Canada) can be seen in the background.
