Photograph. Black and white photo showing a speaker and attendees at the "Partners in Progress" dedication ceremony for the two recently completed power interconnections between the Detroit Edison Company and Ontario Hydro. One interconnection was made across the Detroit River between the Detroit Edison Delray electric power plant and the Ontario Hydro J. C. Keith Generating Station in Windsor, Ontario. The other interconnection was made across the St. Clair River between the Detroit Edison Marysville electric power plant and Ontario Hydro transmission lines located just south of Sarnia, Ontario. The ceremony was held on December 18, 1953, at the Marysville power plant. The speaker is Bryan L. Cathcart, MPP (Member of Provincial Parliament, Ontario). An American flag and ceremony attendees can be seen in the left background area of the photo. The man who is standing in the right background is Prentiss Brown, Chairman of Detroit Edison.
