Photograph. Black and white photo showing a group of four men who are attending the "Partners in Progress" dedication ceremony for the two recently completed power interconnections between the Detroit Edison Company and Ontario Hydro. One interconnection was made across the Detroit River between the Detroit Edison Delray electric power plant and the Ontario Hydro J. C. Keith Generating Station in Windsor, Ontario. The other interconnection was made across the St. Clair River between the Detroit Edison Marysville electric power plant and Ontario Hydro transmission lines located just south of Sarnia, Ontario. The ceremony was held on December 18, 1953, at the Marysville power plant. The men are identified as follows (left to right): Leslie Frost (?), Premier of Ontario; Bryan L. Cathcart, MPP (Member of Provincial Parliament, Ontario); G. Mennen Williams, Governor of Michigan; Prentiss Brown, Chairman of Detroit Edison. The unveiled "Partners in Progress" monument can be seen in the center area of the photo. A photographer is holding is movie camera in the lower left corner of the photo. A portion of the Royal Union Flag (Canada) can be seen in the upper right background.
