The lunch was held as part of the dedication ceremony for the recently completed power interconnections across the Detroit River and the St. Clair River between the Detroit Edison Company and Ontario Hydro. The image shows four long banquet tables and a large group of attendees. Aerial transmission tower decorations on the curtain-covered wall in the background celebrate the partnership between Ontario Hydro and Detroit Edison. Detroit Edison was also celebrating its 50th anniversary in 1953. A microphone in the center background area of the photo shows the radio station call letters, "WTTH."
