Photograph. Black and white photo showing attendees at the conclusion of the "Partners in Progress" dedication ceremony for the two recently completed power interconnections between the Detroit Edison Company and Ontario Hydro. One interconnection was made across the Detroit River between the Detroit Edison Delray electric power plant and the Ontario Hydro J. C. Keith Generating Station in Windsor, Ontario. The other interconnection was made across the St. Clair River between the Detroit Edison Marysville electric power plant and Ontario Hydro transmission lines located just south of Sarnia, Ontario. The ceremony was held on December 18, 1953, at the Marysville power plant. After the unveiling of the "Partners in Progress" monument (seen in the center background between the United States flag and the Royal Union flag), the attendees are walking onto the Marysville electric power plant property. The base of a steel lattice transmission line tower can also be seen in the background along with a sign for Morton Salt.
