Photograph. Black and white photo showing the bow section of the bulk carrier, SS Chacornac, of the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company that is underway (upbound) on the St. Clair River. The Detroit Edison Marysville electric power plant can be seen in the background along with a tall steel lattice transmission line tower. The tugboat, G. F. Becker, and a U.S. Coast Guard buoy tender are docked in front of the plant and a barge is anchored nearby in the river. Power lines are loosely draping from the top of the tower while workmen onshore are preparing to carry the lines across the river by tugboat. The power lines will then be raised across the river to form an interconnection between the Marysville electric power plant in Detroit and Ontario Hydro transmission lines located just south of Sarnia, Ontario.
