Photograph. Black and white photo showing the installation of an aerial power line across the Detroit River. The view shows a power line being unwound from a large cable reel that is mounted on the aft deck of the tugboat, G. F. Becker, as it moves slowly away from the American shoreline. A wooden barge of Candler-Rusche, Inc., is anchored nearby in the river. Also, a classic wooden runabout is maneuvering in close proximity to the barge and the tugboat. In the background, a tall steel lattice transmission line tower can be seen on the Canadian shoreline. It appears that the tower is already supporting three lines across the river and the tugboat will add another. The aerial power lines will form an interconnection between the Detroit Edison Delray electric power plant and the Ontario Hydro J. C. Keith Generating Station in Windsor, Ontario.
