Photograph (and 1 copy). Black and white photo showing the French Landing Dam and hydroelectric power plant located on the Huron River just west of Haggerty Road in Belleville. The view looks north and shows the downstream side of the dam including the river, dam, power house building, and spillways. The water surface on the upstream side of the dam (Belleville Lake) is faintly visible in the background. Printed text in the lower left corner shows "French Landing Hydro Plant - N., 8-13-33." The number, "M-37025," is printed near the lower right corner. Detroit Edison began purchasing water rights and property for dam construction on the Huron River in 1905.
