A typewritten note on the verso shows "Final Stop - Economical coal extracted from Montana mines and transferred from trains to lake vessels at the Superior, Wisconsin, transshipment terminal will wind up here. In the foreground is the site of Detroit Edison's proposed Belle River power plant. Edison's St. Clair power plant is in the background. Deliveries of the cleaner-burning, low-sulfur coal will begin next April, part of Edison's project aimed at providing the most economical electricity possible to the people of Southeastern Michigan."
