Black and white photograph of the Revolutionary Alcove in the Detroit Historical Museum's Hall of Patriotism. A mannequin in an officer's jacket and a white wig stands in a display behind a small table upon which an open book and a candle stick-shaped light fixture sit. A small writing desk holding another candle-shaped light, several books, and a tricorne hat, two chairs--one caned, the other upholstered with a dark material in the seat--an American flag with thirteen stars, a candle on a short stand, a small painted portrait of George Dorrance Stewart (1943.439), and a large painted portrait of Hugh Brady by Marchant Edward Dalton (1946.194.001) are also exhibited in the space. The floor is made of wooden boards, and the walls are decorated with wallpaper bearing a medallion pattern. "Revolutionary Period Room. The figure is wearing an officers uniform. The flag which hangs on the wall has 13 stars and 13 stripes. They floor is wide boards. They used candles for light. Notice the cane bottom chair of this period." and "Revolutionary Alcove -- Hall of Patriotism, 1954-- Wayne U. Photo." are typewritten on labels affixed to the verso. "Rev. Alcove 7-27-54," is also handwritten on the verso.
