Black and white photograph Henry D. Brown speaking during the dedication of the Detroit Historical Museum on July 24, 1951. He stands behind a trio of microphones including one from Voice of America, beside Pierre Marie Poisson's bust of Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac (1951.299.001) on the walkway outside of the museum's Woodward Avenue entrance. He has one hand in his pocket and the other holds a piece of paper. A crowd of people are seated behind him. "Henry D. Brown, Museum Director, Museum Dedication, July 24, 1951," is handwritten on the verso.
