Black and white photographic print of a diorama depicting the British taking possession of Detroit from the French in 1760; the diorama was displayed in window number 4 at The J.L. Hudson Company department store in 1951. Signage in the right window foreground reads, "Detroit Historama, Major Robert Rogers (British) Takes Possession from French, 1760, On September 12, 1760, four days after the English took over Montreal, Major Robert (The Ranger) Rogers was ordered by General Amherst to take possession of Detroit. On November 29, 1760, French Commander Belestre handed over surrender to Lt. Leslie and Lt. McCormick of the Royal Americans and it was on this date that the colors of England first flew over Detroit." Also, signage in the window's central foreground reads, "You are cordially invited to see 'Detroit Historama's display of many exhibits and merchandise of 250 years, July 23 through August 2, 12th Floor Auditorium, No Admission Charge."
