Black and white photographic print of a diorama depicting the arrival of Madame Cadillac to Detroit in 1702; the diorama was displayed in window number 3 at The J.L. Hudson Company department store in 1951. Signage in the right window foreground reads, "Detroit Historama, The Arrival of Madame Cadillac, 1702, there were no women with Cadillac's first expedition. However, in September 1701, Madame Cadillac, in the company of Madame Tonty journeyed to Fort Frontenac. There they remained through winter and in spring, continued their journey to Fort Pontchartrain. They arrived on May 30, 1702 with Cadillac's young son, Jacques. This was regarded by the Indians as indicative that the French intended to stay and had a great deal to do with cementing friendly Indian-French relations." Also, signage in the window's central foreground reads, "You are cordially invited to see 'Detroit Historama's display of many exhibits and merchandise of 250 years, July 23 through August 2, 12th Floor Auditorium, No Admission Charge."
