Black and white photographic print of the Collector's Corner Exhibit which features souvenir ceramic items from the personal collection of Detroit Historical Museum President and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Henry D. Brown, which were exhibited May - September 1963. Typed on the verso, "Collector's Corner, May - September 1963, Mr. and Mrs. Henry D. Brown. In the "Personal Interest" case are shown ceramics which have a direct bearing on the Brown's birthplace, their Alma Mater, Mr. Brown's service in the Navy during W.W. II, and his special avocation of the Study of Republican Politics. In the "Hobby" case are displayed plates which the Brown's have collected have to do with the City of Detroit. These are "Historic" plates, one showing a view of the Old City Hall in the early 1870s (9 ¾" diameter, blue and white), another depicting the old U.S. Post Office (9 ¾" diameter, blue and white), another a view of the Hurlbut Gate of Water-Works Park (10" diameter, blue and white), and another in the lower right hand corner, a plate from a service especially made for the Fort Street Presbyterian Church in the 3rd Quarter, 19th Century (black and white, 8 7/8" diameter - marked 'Ironstove China - warranted - Anthony Shaw'). A particularly unique item is the compote, of brown Earthenware, which also shows a view of the Old City Hall."
