Print, Photographic

Black and white photographic print of differing styles and sizes of cut-glass, featured in the Collector's Corner Exhibit entitled, "Americana" inside the Detroit Historical Museum, Summer 1965. Typed on the verso, "The flint goblet of honeycomb pattern (upper) c. 1860s was known originally as "New York;" the leaf and dart designed goblet is of the 1870s. They reflect the collecting interest of Miss Margot Pearsall. Mrs. Leland Foster's collection includes the carnival glass compote (dark coloring) which was a wedding gift to her parents Edith and Leon Holland (lower left). Representative of the cut-glass collection of Mrs. Clarence Nichols are the finger bowl and old-fashioned spoon holster (upper). The delicate workmanship of this cut-glass compote belies its surprising heaviness. This and the two bowls are part of Miss Josephine Benson's cut-glass collection."
