Print, Photographic

Black and white photographic print of pewter housewares featured in the Collector's Corner Exhibit inside the Detroit Historical Museum, January - May, 1971. Signage affixed to the upper left side of the exhibit reads, "Something about pewter is absolutely timeless. Classic designs in pewter have been repeated again and again over the years. Yet pewter can also be used for objects designed in the fashion of the moment. The mug and tankard shown here, for example, are twentieth century representations of an earlier period. The small covered dish, on the other hand is in the style of Art Nouveau (1890s) or perhaps its cousin, Art Deco (1920s-1930s). The basin at the bottom of the case (loaned by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beebe) is probably late eighteenth century, the plates nineteenth century and the salt and pepper shakers twentieth."
