A young boy is featured atop a ladder attempting to put a gift on the tree; also, a young girl has climbed a short ladder and stands smiling next to the tree. Signage in front of the tree reads, "Tree of Christmas Stockings." The date, photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name printed on the recto, "12-10-56; 27285-11x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer." Also, the photographer's name and address are stamped on the verso, "Davis B. Hillmer Commercial Photography, 8825 Second Ave. Detroit, Michigan."
