Black and white photographic print of the flag raising ceremonies, held in the plaza outside of the Detroit Historical Museum on Woodward Avenue, during Michigan Week Heritage Day Opening, 1962. Typed on the verso, "Public ceremony to mark the opening of Michigan Week and the Museum's exhibit. The event combines, and picture shows, such diverse elements as historic flag, military participation, news and TV coverage, historic uniforms, public officials participating - and a goodly company of observers." The date is stamped on the verso, "May 25 1962."
