Two black and white photos mounted on opposite sides of a sheet of grey cardboard. The Belle Isle bridge is pictured on the recto as taken from southwest of its foot on Belle Isle. Pedestrians, and several horse-drawn carriages cross the bridge. A dirt path curves around a small planter atop a long in the foreground.
A group of twelve workers, posed around the base of wood scaffolding which supports an elevator. Rails run along the ground onto the elevator's platform. A sign posted beside the elevator cautions, "Danger Don't Ring This Bell." "71," and "other side" are handwritten below the photo.
