Print, Photographic

Print. Sepia-toned photographic print of the Ask Mr. Foster Travel Service at the J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Women and men sit at a long table with travel agents; a gentleman with a cane waits near-by. Several different maps and brochures are visible behind the female travel agents. A young lady sits at the Western Union Telegraph desk in the background. Differing signs advertise cruise vacations to differing locales around the globe. Signage affixed to the rear of the service shop reads, "The Ask Mr. Foster Travel Service, Reliable Information about resorts, hotels, schools, railroads, steamships, tours planned, tickets secured, reservations made for travel anywhere in the world, no charges, no fees!." An image of Mr. Foster is secured above the signage. The photographic sequence number and the name and location are printed on the bottom of the recto, "12684; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer, Detroit."
