Sailing Ship in a Heavy Sea
Black and white photograph of the Robert Hopkin painting "Sailing Ship in a Heavy Sea," which was displayed in the 1949 Detroit Institute of Art exhibition, "Painters in Detroit before 1900." This painting shows a large sailing ship with three masts in a storm at the center of the painting. A second ship can be seen in the background. The sea looks very rough and the sky is filled with clouds of varying darkness, the darkest clouds are in the top left corner and bottom right.
