The record contains organ arrangements of eleven popular songs, plus one original, performed by McLain--on the Hammond X-77 organ--and his backing band--Bob Schneider, tenor sax; Ernie Skuta, trumpet and flugelhorn; Eddie Kayne, string bass; and Ed Demetrak, drums. The album was recorded at Tera Shirma Studios at 15341 Livernois Avenue.
McLain is featuring on the cover in his Tigers uniform on the pitching mound. The rear of the jacket includes a pair of photos from the recoding sessions, as well as notes written by Dave Dexter, Jr.
