Detroit's 250th Anniversary, Hudson's 70th Year
Booklet published by the J.L. Hudson Company to mark their seventeith anniversary as well as the 250th anniversary of Detroit's founding. The book compiles a series of single page biographies of twenty-six significant past Detroiters written by Milo M. Quaife originally for the Detroit News. The book also contains photos and descriptions of the Hudson's window display "Cavalcade of Fashion Through 250 Years," and of the Detroit Historama display combining historical dioramas in the store's windows with an exhibit in the twelfth floor auditorium. The book concludes with two photos from the city's 250th birthday parade. The book is bound in a tan cardstock cover with a crest combining an eagle, stars, a lion passant, and a fleur-de-lis representing Detroit, and Hudson's "J.L.H." logo on the front.
