Hudson's Sixtieth Jubilee Year

Booklet published to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the J.L. Hudson Company compiling a series of articles about Detroit's history published in the Detroit Free Press during August 1941. The articles are supplements with photographs from the Burton Historical Collection. The articles focus on the Detroit River, Belle Isle, toll roads, blacksmith shops, Cadillac Square's Central Market, the Detroit Police Department, the Detroit Water Works, the Detroit Fire Department, railroads, banks, the Russell House, the Detroit Museum of Art, libraries, newspapers, doctors and medicine, Harper Hospital, dentistry, shopping, the University of Michigan, the University of Detroit, post offices, the Light Guard Armory, Gordon Hall, road paving, baseball, street lights, the Y.M.C.A., Detroit River ferries, and public schools. The booklet is bound in a brown textured cardstock cover with the Sixtieth Jubilee logo printed on the front in gold.
