Book, Instruction
16 page instruction booklet for the Electreat, an electrical device intended to have beneficial effects on one's health, sold by the Electreat Manufacturing Company of Peoria, Illinois. "Electreat Relieves Pain. Two things cannot occupy the same space at the same times. Shooting electricity in forces the pain out," declares the blurb on the booklet's cover beneath an image of the Statue of Liberty holding an Electreat instead of a torch. The booklet lists the uses of the Electreat, including purifying blood, pain relief, curing paralysis, and electrical baths. Two pages of diagrams demonstrating its use are also included. A 1919 patent date is printed on the back cover.
