A Photographic History of Some of the Work Done by Vinton Company, General Building Contractors

One book, "A Photographic History of Some of the Work Done by Vinton Company, General Building Contractors," that was compiled and published by James Ingersoll Day. The hardcover book has a black faux leather cover with gold-colored title text on the front that reads "Vinton Company." It contains approximately 100 pages of black and white halftone photographic images of various buildings that were constructed, remodeled, or repaired by the Vinton Company. Projects included commercial/office buildings, churches, public buildings, apartment buildings, factories, residential homes, and steamship interiors. The front pages give some historical information about the company which was located at the corner of Woodbridge and Beaubien Streets in downtown Detroit. The back pages show many advertisements for construction equipment and building supplies. The right edge of the title page has an embossed circular seal with raised text that reads "J. Lawson Miller, Registered Architect," and "State of Michigan, Detroit."
