Chief Little Turtle
Booklet containing a brief biography of Miami chief Little Turtle (Mishikinakwa), Chief of the Miamis, detailing his involvement with the British during the Northwest Indian War including his participation in the La Balme's Massacre in 1780, his defeat of General Josiah Harmar at the Battle of Harmar's Ford in 1790, General Arthur St. Clair in 1791 at Fort Recovery, and battles with General Anthony Wayne. His later cooperation with the Americans is also described including his assistance with William Henry Harrison's negotiations with Native Americans, and the sword he was presented with by President George Washington in Philadelphia in 1797. An illustration of Little Turtle is on the cover. The booklet was prepared by the staff of the Public Library of Fort Wayne and Allen County.
