Community Service Programs of the Detroit News
Booklet containing a summary of community service programs sponsored by the Detroit News, published in March 1964. The programs are divided into the categories "Public Service Programs," ""Education Programs," "Open Sports and Recreation Programs," "Youth Sports and Recreation Programs," and "Completed Community Service Programs." The programs include films, the "Questions and Answers" telephone information service, arts and crafts exhibits for senior citizens at the Detroit Historical Museum, awards, contests, the model yacht regatta, the Detroit Soap Box Derby, sporting events, the Nancy Brown Peace Carillon, the Detroit Zoo's miniature railway, and the Detroit Historical Museum's flagstaffs. Each program's description is accompanied by its year of inception. The booklet is staple-bound in a white and teal cardstock cover printed with a repeated globe motif. Addresses and phone numbers for Detroit News offices across the country are printed on the back cover.
