It contains 17 pages of black and white photographic images of various Detroit buildings, parks, monuments, and scenes. Small printed text on the inside title page reads "Copyright 1889 by A. Wittemann, 58 & 60 Reade St., New York," and "The Albertype Co., N.Y." The covers and pages are bound with a yellow ribbon on the left edge.
