Historical Detroit, A Story in Bronze
One booklet, "Historical Detroit, A Story in Bronze," published by the J.L. Hudson Company in commemoration of their forty-fifth anniversary. It contains descriptions, pictures, and a location map for twenty bronze tablets that were placed in downtown Detroit to mark historical sites. The pocket-size booklet is printed in black text on white paper and includes a variety of black and white drawings and halftone photos. There is also a chronological listing in the back to indicate when the official unveilings occurred for each of the tablets. The 47-page booklet is staple-bound in a tan cover which has an embossed bronze image of the Seal of the City of Detroit on the front. A handwritten blue ink inscription on page 1 reads "Velma S. Wiles, 8a Section," and "Given to me March 25th, 1938, by Tommy Tillet, my dearest school mate."
