Brochure, printed in black text on yellow paper, for exhibits at the Detroit Historical Museum, Historic Fort Wayne, and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum for the 1980 Republican National Convention held in Detroit. The cover features the logo for the convention, featuring the GOP elephant in front of the Renaissance Center. Text at top reads "Visit the Detroit Historical Museum in the Cultural Center & its branches - Historic Fort Wayne & Dossin Great Lakes Museum." A description of a special exhibit, Republicans of Michigan 1854-1980 reads "Located in the Museum's Rotunda, this exhibition traces the important role which the Grand Old Party has played in Michigan's history since its founding in Jackson, Michigan, in July of 1854. Featured are dozens of items from the Jerry Roe political collection of Lansing, one of the largest in the country. A large time line display is also featured showing all of Michigan's Governors, U.S. Senators and Presidents since 1854. 'Republicans of Michigan' will remain on view from July 1 through August 31, 1980."
The inside of the brochure provides locations, hours of operation, a brief history, and highlights of special exhibits at the Detroit Historical Museum, Historic Fort Wayne, and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. The back cover provides information about a free shuttle service on the "Historymobile," a free mini tour of Detroit's historic churches, and the Coffee Mill Snack Shop, located inside the Museum and sponsored by the Detroit Historical Society Guild.
