The Straus Plan of Financing
One brochure which advertises "The Straus Plan of Financing" which was promoted by S. W. Straus & Company of Chicago. The booklet-style brochure has a gray/green textured art paper cover with black title text on the front along with a small drawing of a bas-relief sculpture done by Leo Lentelli. The right edge of the front cover has an embossed circular seal with raised text that reads "J. Lawson Miller, Registered Architect," and "State of Michigan, Detroit." The brochure contains 24 pages of black printed text on white paper which discuss various financing options such as bond issues for major building construction projects. Several recent projects are highlighted with brief summaries of financing details, images of the building, and floorplan drawings. A centerfold display shows "Typical Buildings and Industrial Properties Securing Bond Issues Underwritten by S. W. Straus & Co." Detroit projects included the General Motors Building, the 1700 Jefferson Avenue East Apartment Building, and the Hotel Statler.
