Card, Greeting

Steamer MAYFLOWER and Detroit Riverfront from Canada in the Year 1852

Single-sided holiday greeting card printed on off-white textured paper bearing a print from an engraving titled, "Steamer MAYFLOWER and Detroit Riverfront from Canada in the Year 1852." Depicted within are well-dressed people standing in the foreground among the foliage on Windsor's shore. The steamer MAYFLOWER is in the center of the composition, heading down river. Surrounding it are smaller sailing ships and steamers. Detroit is in the background. The domed roundhouse of the Michigan Central Railroad yard is visible among the buildings. A note in the corner credits the engraving to an 1852 issue of Gleason Pictorial, and the etching to Charles E. Curry. "Christmas and New Year Greetings, Eaton-Clark Company, Established 1838, Detroit, Michigan, Windsor, Ontario" is printed below.
