Certificate conferring upon Henry D. Brown the title of Knight of the Order of Academic Palms by the French Ministry of National Education for his services to French culture, dated June 30, 1962. The text of the certificate reads "Le Premier Ministre, par Decret en date du 30 Juin 1962 a nomme Chevalier dans l'ordre des Palmes Academiques Monsieur Brown Henry a Detroit Etats. Unis Services renus a la culture francaise". The certificate is signed on the bottom left by "Le Chef du Bureau du Cabinet" [head of the cabinet office] and stamped on the bottom right with the name "Pierre Sudreau," "Le Ministre de l'Education Nationale" [Minister of National Education]. The certificate is embossed with the stamp of the Ministere de l'Education Nationale." The text of the certificate is surrounded by a decorative black and white border. Printed text underneath the bottom right corner of the border reads "Imprimerie Nationale."
