Ordo Ab Chao [Order Out of Chaos]

One certificate entitled, "Ordo Ab Chao [Order Out of Chaos]," which recommends that Maurice Judd Tremper of Detroit be awarded the rank of 33rd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite. It is printed in black text on white paper that is watermarked "Crane & Co., Dalton, Mass., 1909 Bond," and includes a decorative engraved drawing with various Masonic symbols. The certificate is signed by four members of the Supreme Council and is also signed by the awardee, Maurice Judd Tremper, with a date of June 1, 1911. An embossed seal of the Detroit Consistory is shown in the upper left corner. The verso has the signatures of six Michigan members including: Wm. Van Sickle, Geo. W. Fowle, John J. Carton, Wm. Richmond Dunn, Frank P. Wilcox, and Arthur H. Milford.
