Pere Marquette Railway Company "less than 100 shares" stock certificate, number B01072, for 50 shares issued to Mrs. Margaret Head Stockton on May 29, 1944. The certificate features an engraving of locomotive 1357 pulling a train. The certificate is signed by the company's assistant secretary and vice president, as well as the assistant secretaries of the Merchants National Bank of Boston and the Old Colony Trust Company. The form on the verso indicates that the certificate was surrendered for exchange, and it has been punched with cancellation marks dated January 12, 1948.
