Detroit and Cleveland Navigation Company Stock Certificate issued to David Carter, trustee, representing 20,000 shares, on December 31, 1897. Bears an engraving of a passenger steamer with two smokestacks aligned perpendicular to the length of the ship. A sale to "all persons who were stockholders of the Detroit and Cleveland Steam Nav. Co.," on July 3, 1898 is indicated on the verso. Printed by the Calvert Lithograph Company of Detroit.
