Calumet and Indiana Harbors
One navigational chart entitled, "Calumet and Indiana Harbors," that was compiled and published by the U.S. Lake Survey, Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army. The chart (No. 755) is a polyconic projection and is drawn at a scale of 1:15,000. It shows the southwest shoreline of Lake Michigan in the vicinity of the entrance to the Calumet River and the entrance to the Indiana Harbor Canal. Land areas are shaded in pale yellow. Lake areas are shown in white and light blue depending upon water depths which are shown in feet. Distances are given in statute miles. Lines of latitude and longitude are shown in black. Course bearings are shown along with navigational range markers. Lighthouses and buoys are also noted. Harbor seawalls, railroads, factories, and other industrial facilities are also shown. Printed text along the lower center edge shows "Aids to navigation corrected to 10 May 1966."
