Saginaw River, Michigan
One navigational chart entitled, "Saginaw River, Michigan." The chart (No. 524) was compiled and published as part of the Survey of the Northern and Northwestern Lakes (War Department, Corps of Engineers). It is a polyconic projection and is drawn at a scale of 1:20,000. Land areas are shaded in pale yellow. Water areas are shown in white and pale blue/green shading. Chart details include distances in statute miles, depth soundings in feet, lines of latitude and longitude, sailing directions, lighthouses, and buoys. Factories and streets in Bay City are also shown. The Defoe Shipbuilding Company property can be seen along a bend of the river near the lower left corner area. Printed text in the lower left corner indicates that the chart was "Issued February, 1943."
