Diary
One diary that was written by Chester J. Sypniewski (Selden) during his service in World War II in the Quartermaster Corps at Fort Wayne, Detroit. Entries are handwritten in blue or black ink or in pencil and are dated from January 6 - December 31, 1941. The pocket-size diary has a cardboard cover with a medium red textured paper covering that resembles faux leather. Gold-stamped text on the front reads "Five Year Diary." A paper tab with a thin, chrome-plated metal lock is located on the right side. The diary contains blank white pages that have been printed with light red and blue lines. Printed dates at the top of each page have been crossed out and replaced with handwritten dates so that the diary covers only one year rather than five years.
