The Detroit Historical Museum will be closed Wednesday, November 26 and Thursday, November 27 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The museum will resume normal business hours on Friday.
I was 15 living on Charlotte between Cass & 2nd behind the Masonic Temple. , Father & landlord on our roof with rifles, hearing gunshots & watching the fires burn on Woodward, scared to death. Then with prohibition my Dad got caught buying beer from a deli, saw the cops kick him in the ass & throw him in the patrol car. I was a rare white kid at Jefferson Jr. High & had many black friends I cared for & worried about.
