I can remember it very vividly. I was only 11 years old at that time. You could hear sniper shots all night long. I lived on chalmers and harper area and you could see army tanks driving by. My Dad was assistent superintendent for Detroit City Streets and Alleyways so he had to go in the city and how frightened he was. Actually how we all were for him.. We didnt have Media coverage like we do now. I have been trying to find the picture slides but have been unable to locate them at this time. That really took a toll on the city and people of detroit. People moved out to the suburbs after that in numbers. You really saw the decline after that in the City. It is good to see all the good things that are happening in Detroit. It took a long time but I think I see it coming back and just as lively as ever!
