One drawing entitled, "3/4" Southard's Messenger Chain Wheels with 6 and 19 Lugs." The drawing (No. 1379) consists of black ink on linen and shows details of the mechanical workings of a windlass. Pencil shading has been used to show portions of the section details in gray. The plan was prepared at full size scale by the "American Ship Windlass Co., Providence, R.I." and is dated March 21, 1888.
