Drive Adapter
One mechanical drawing entitled, "Drive Adapter." The pencil drawing on vellum paper shows plan and profile views of a round fitting with a flange and threaded base. The fitting also has a tapered center hole and keyway which would allow for mounting on a shaft. The title block in the lower right corner shows that the drawing was prepared by "Wood Hydraulic Hoist & Body Company, Detroit, Michigan," at full scale and is dated December 29, 1932. The plan number is shown as "FT-#31." It is not known if this fitting was used on one of Gar Wood's hydroplanes or if it was part of a hydraulic assembly that was manufactured by his company for commercial use.
