Driving Gear

One mechanical drawing entitled, "Driving Gear." The pencil drawing on vellum paper shows plan and end views of a round gear fitting with teeth that also has a center hole and keyway. The title block in the lower right corner shows that the drawing was prepared by "Wood Hydraulic Hoist & Body Company, Detroit, Michigan," at full scale and is dated November 22, 1932. The plan number is shown as "FT-#8." It is not known if this fitting was used on one of Gar Wood's hydroplanes or if it was part of a hydraulic assembly that was manufactured by his company for commercial use.
